In March of 2018 a group of OCF students and Host Parent Howard Webb made a pilgrimage to the Hermitage of the Holy Cross Monastery in Wayne, West Virginia. They were warmly received, and joined the monks in the services and for meals. For some, it was their first experience of the monastic life. A former OCF student from Bloomington, the Monk Michael, has been at the monastery almost 2 years.
The matches were tossed and with an awesome WHOOSH!!! the flames flew up and embers flew through the dark.

In minutes no one could stand closer than ten feet away! 
Soon hot dogs and marshmallows were roasting over the coals and s’mores were being assembled.
It was a fun evening – and there’s still more wood for the next one!
